A Venom co-creator has a top pick for who should portray Eddie Brock if the character returns to the big screen.
Who did the Venom co-creator think would suit Eddie Brock?
A social media post by X user, voice actor, and content creator “TheDoctorX11” revealed that they spoke with Venom co-creator David Michelinie—who also contributed to the creation of Carnage, Ant-Man, and War Machine—about the possibility of Alan Ritchson portraying Eddie Brock.
In an unexpected reply, Michelinie confirmed that Ritchson is someone he’s previously believed would excel as Eddie Brock. “I once shared photos of Ritchson—shirtless and mid-shout—and said he’d be the perfect Eddie/Venom. So we’re on the same page,” Michelinie stated.
I asked David Michelinie, Co-Creator of Venom, which actor would faithfully inhabit Eddie Brock, and I suggested Alan Ritchson. Here’s his response:
“I once posted pics of Ritchson—shirtless and one of him yelling—and said he’d make the perfect Eddie/Venom. So we’re on the same page.”

Brock has appeared across numerous live-action Marvel projects, with Tom Hardy currently portraying him in the latest Venom film series. Previously, Topher Grace played the character in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3. As of 2024’s Venom: The Last Dance, Hardy’s future as Venom remains uncertain, leaving fans unsure about what lies ahead for the character.
There have been rumors about Venom appearing in future Spider-Man projects from Marvel Studios. Hardy has also expressed interest in sharing the screen with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man/Peter Parker someday, though concrete plans—and whether that crossover will happen—have yet to be announced.
