We all have those moments when something happens, and we just think "Woah, what was that about?" or after the heat of the moment has passed, we continue to ruminate (unproductively) about "what we could have/should have done". Well, instead of letting the moment of learning pass by, the practice of Reflection can help us make the most of it. Reflection is taking the time to look back at those moments and experiences in our lives and really analyze them for understanding and growth. It's asking yourself questions like "Why did I react that way?" "What was really going on there?" "How can I learn from this?" Reflection helps you understand yourself better - your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, what's important to you. This week, we’ve focused on transitions - particularly paying attention to the ones we hurry ourselves through. Often, when we try and mentally hurry them along, the stress that generates gets carried over into the next task at hand. We experience this as tension, and it can be a helpful indicator that we may benefit from taking a pause. Today’s reflection asks us to consider when those moments might be happening for us…Self-understanding is huge for personal growth. When you reflect, you gain clarity on your strengths and weaknesses, identify the patterns you want to change, and uncover hidden desires. You're able to step back and course correct when you're feeling off track. You appreciate the positive moments more. You process emotions in a healthier way instead of bottling them up.The more we reflect, the more we keep learning and growing... and creating lives we're really proud of.#reflection #innerwisdom #mentalwellbeing #qstudio #myqstudio #transitions

Understanding Metacognition and Habits for a Better Life 🧠Have you ever thought about how you think? 🤔 This is called metacognition, and it's a powerful tool that can transform the way we learn, solve problems, and approach challenges in life. Metacognition involves being aware of our own thought processes, planning our learning strategies, monitoring our progress, and evaluating our results. It’s like having a personal coach in your mind guiding you to success! 🧠✨On the other hand, habits are those automatic behaviors we do without thinking much—like brushing our teeth or driving the same route to work. 🚗 These routines save us time and mental energy, allowing us to focus on more complex tasks. Here's how you can use metacognition and habits to improve your life:1. Reflect and Plan: Think about how you learn best and plan your tasks accordingly. Set clear goals and strategies.2. Monitor and Adjust: Keep track of your progress and be ready to adjust your methods if something isn’t working.3. Evaluate and Reflect: After completing a task, evaluate what worked and what didn’t. Reflect on these insights for future improvements.4. Build Positive Habits: Identify and cultivate habits that support your goals. Consistency is key—repetition will turn these actions into second nature.By combining the conscious awareness of metacognition with the efficiency of positive habits, you can enhance your learning, productivity, and overall quality of life. Start today and watch the transformation! 🌟💪Feel free to share your thoughts or experiences on this topic. Let’s learn and grow together! 😊#Metacognition #Habits #PersonalGrowth #LifelongLearning #SelfImprovement

The BEST way to be productive is not what you think...Most people obsess over doing more.A minute of silence & a moment without some action makes them feel restless. While waiting for a bus, in line to pay for groceries, for a normal walk in the park and even in washrooms; so many people get their phones out to consume.𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝗜 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗱🥱?Life is like a speech delivered on stage. As Vinh Giang says in Stage Academy - To remove filler words & sounds from your speech, you need to get comfortable with pauses.Similarly, to remove unnecessary activities & people from your life, you need to get comfortable with boredom. Most of human problems stem from trying to fill the empty space in life with things & people that are not healthy for us.What if you didn't fill that space and instead got comfortable with it?𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂...For next 1 week, try spending at least 5 minutes a day doing nothing. 🧠 "Interesting, not relevant" - Sharon Connolly, I have stolen your prioritisation #focus mantra with pride, and it's paying off ten fold! So much so, we'd better share with others too 😉🌟 As a creative, and especially with an ADHD brain, the allure of the detour into all the bright and shiny learning opportunities can make staying on track with your main goals pretty tricky. That's why I'm always curious to ask leaders like Sharon how they keep their eye and focus on tasks that take them toward their key goals. The secret to Sharon's consistency in delivering beautiful and informative content is her commitment to the practice of being willing to recognise and remove distractions, with kind intentionality. I took away so many insights and practical tips from Sharon, and am both grateful for her time and in awe of her continued dedication to 'show up' as her full, authentic self, in service for others. In the spirit of Sharon's 'high value always' principles, here are a few other tips I hope help you stay focused on your goals, while honouring your beautiful curiosity in time for Neurodiversity Celebration Week -1. 🎨🗓️ Time-block for creativity: Allocate specific times in your schedule for exploring new ideas so you can indulge your curiosity without derailing your main objectives. Think of it as designated playtime for your brain, where "interesting but not relevant" ideas can freely roam, without impacting your productivity.2. ✅ Make your goals visible: I like to keep visual reminders of key goals in my workspace, and can honestly say post-it notes and vision boards are my best friends! Having constant visual cues in your environment reinforces what's truly relevant to your day and why, helping you and your brain to bypass distractions (which you can schedule for your creative time-blocks!).3. 🧠 🎧 Get your focus on: #neurodivergent brains have super nervous systems that are more responsive to external cues. Use this to your advantage and curate a personal playlist of meditations, brown noise or white noise audio tracks or songs that signal to your brain 'it's go time'. Added bonus if they're synced to a time-blocking schedule that works for you (I set mine to 45 min blocks - play around with work flow tips that match your productivity cycle) Episode 30 of Classroom 5.0 with Sharon Connolly is both 'interesting' AND 'relevant' to anyone looking to level up their mindset, communication and workflow habits to deliver impact. Download it wherever you get your podcasts, or via the link in comments. The best 45 mins you'll spend this week! 🙋🏼♀️Got a workflow or productivity habit that works for you? Would love to hear it in the comments below! 👇🏼👏🏼 #neurodiversitycelebrationweek #productivitytips #adhdatwork #changeleadership #adhdcoach

We’re halfway through the year already…But don’t get disheartened if you haven’t achieved what you wanted by now.Sometimes life gets in the way and things take longer than expected, and that’s ok. You’re human, not a machine. You still have plenty of time. You’re on your own journey and life’s a marathon, not a sprint ☺️To help you refocus and get back on track, now is the perfect time to do a mid-year review. Not sure where to start? I’ve got you covered my friend:1️⃣ Review the goals you originally set for yourself. Are they still important to you? Do you still want to achieve them or set new ones?2️⃣ Reflect on your progress so far. How close are you to achieving your goals? What would you do differently next time?3️⃣ Recognise your achievements. What are you proud of? What have you done well?4️⃣ Refocus your attention on the next 6 months of the year. What do you want to achieve? What are the action steps you need to take and milestones you need to reach?5️⃣ Re-write your goals and place them somewhere you can see them daily. Make them a SMART goal (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time bound). Include the next action steps you need to take.Taking the time to review, reflect and refocus on your goals will give you a much higher chance of success. It also gives you valuable insights into where you can improve, what your strengths are and what’s actually important to you. So here’s to you and the next 6 months of your life’s journey 🙌 You’ve got this.Let me know how you get on with your mid-year review ☺️With full belief in you,Camelia #midyear #midyearreview #smartgoals #reviewyourgoals #goalsetting #professionaldevelopment #personaldevelopment #personalgrowth #lifecoachperth #perthlifecoach #perthwellness #perthcoach #perthhypnotherapist #nlpcoach #nlpcoaching #learngrowevolve #selfawareness #selfdiscovery
