Starting now, at least 75% of the roof area of these buildings must be covered with solar panels, or they must meet specific renewable energy sourcing targets based on their Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) tariff category. He highlights that large commercial buildings with air-conditioned areas exceeding 4,000 square meters must source at least 2% of their total energy from renewables, aligning with the Penang Energy Framework (PEF).
