Your lips will feel tender post-injection; however, most hyaluronic acid fillers contain an anaesthetic called lidocaine to help reduce any discomfort during the procedure.

Avoid non prescription blood thinners ― like ibuprofen, aspirin or herbal supplements. If you are prescribed blood thinners for a specific medical condition, it is advised that you continue this medication as normal. These medications can make it more likely to bruise. If you’re prone to cold sores, a lip filler could trigger one, so an antiviral medication is often prescribed a few days prior.
