This year, the Buccaneers will kick off their season in a truly unforgettable way: at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, the home of the Major League Baseball's Texas Rangers. This marks a groundbreaking moment, as it will be the first time regular season junior college games have ever been played in a Major League stadium!
Head Coach Zac Cole expressed his excitement, stating, "These are going to be the first junior college regular season games played in a Major League stadium." Imagine the thrill of playing on the same field as the pros!
Pitcher Nicholas Lorenz shared his enthusiasm for this unique opportunity, saying, "Playing at this level you don't get to play many cool parks. But being able to start the season at the Rangers stadium that's going to be an awesome experience." Coach Cole added, "This is a great way to start the season. An unbelievable experience for our guys and just something we couldn't pass up."
Catcher Evan Tavares is equally proud, seeing it as a chance to showcase their talent on a grand stage. "It's a great opportunity for us to show what us Florida guys can do," he said.
The team's success in 2025, including winning the FCSAA Championship and their inaugural trip to the JUCO World Series in Grand Junction, has set a high bar. Coach Cole reflects on the team's shift in mindset: "Once you get over that hump, now I think at least internally there's the feeling hey this is what we're trying to do. It's not just pie in the sky anymore. We're excited and I think this group is embracing they want to make it back out there."
The Buccaneers are determined to build on their achievements. Lorenz emphasized the importance of staying focused, stating, "It's important to keep your eyes on the prize and know that we can do it. And the guys that are returning know what it's like to play that kind of baseball."
Coach Cole is brimming with confidence in his team, declaring, "I think this is the most talented group I've ever had."
